WATCH: It was a ruckus, sold-out crowd at Westhills Stadium on Friday night, but a slow start led to Canada’s defeat at the hands of Argentina by a final score of 39-23.
The event was part of the Americas Rugby Championship series, which saw Argentina improve to a 4-0 record and with four tries and the victory, the Argentinians claimed the series win, becoming the 2019 ARC champions.
Canada gave up the opening try of the game just 30-seconds into the match after a blocked clearing kick wound up in the hands of Argentina who rumbled in for the try.
Canada trailed 22-6 at the half, and despite a much better effort in the second half of play, couldn’t complete the comeback after an electric coast-to-coast run from Andrew Coe.
The 15’s squad wraps up its ARC campaign next weekend on the road, taking on the United States.
