Rob Shaw: Firing of BC Ferries CEO signals that direct political control has returned to the ferry corporation

After weeks of repeated cancellations and delays due to staffing issues, BC Ferries’ chief executive officer, Mark Collins was fired on Friday.

Collins’ termination was announced by recently appointed BC Ferry Service Board chair Joy MacPhail.

It’s a move that signals the NDP has returned to the days of direct political control of BC Ferries. Rob Shaw explains.
