On this week’s segment of Road to Recovery with Douglas Magazine, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine chats with Ingrid Vaughn, the founder of My Smart HR.
Businesses in Canada are facing the biggest talent crisis since the 2008 recession. But unlike then, people are no longer competing for jobs; companies are competing for people.
A study by Workhuman of 3,500 workers in the U.S., U.K. and Canada showed that more than 40 per cent of workers will be looking for new jobs in the next year, with greater flexibility a primary motivation for 40 per cent of those leavers. 64 per cent of workers are suffering from burnout, with 41 per cent pointing to the specific impact of the last two years on their stress levels.
In this episode, Ingrid talks about how the pandemic has affected Vancouver Island’s workforce, and what businesses can do to thrive in a shifting labour market.
