The world of sports has been flipped on its head during COVID-19.

Major leagues have found a way to make it work with varying success, but at a local level, the challenge is more difficult. How do team’s make money and still remain viable, when it’s unclear when play will be back? But of course, the big question remains – when can fans return to the seats?

In this episode of Road to Recovery, CHEK’s Joe Perkins talks to Jim Swanson, the general manager of the Victoria HarbourCats and Nanaimo Nightowls baseball clubs, about how they are managing to survive amid the COVID-19.

Swanson says the club is fortunate that it plays a shorter season and has been a part of the community for years to come and is grateful for all the support they’ve received amid the pandemic.

The segment “Road to Recovery” is done in partnership with Douglas Magazine.
