In this edition of Road to Recovery, CHEK’s Kori Sidaway speaks to Craig Norris from the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technology (COAST), about an ambitious plan to create an ocean tech-hub in Victoria that could bring thousands of jobs with it.

One of COAST’s goals is to help Greater Victoria businesses access opportunities in what is the $1.5-trillion blue economy.

The World Bank defines the blue economy as “sustainable use of ocean resources through economic growth, improved livelihoods and jobs, and ocean ecosystem activities. It encompasses a range of sectors such as renewable energy, tourism, waste management, maritime transport and fisheries.
