Drive BC is warning island motorists of a washed out road on Highway 19A between Parksville and Campbell River.
Traffic is closed on the roadway in both directions 500 metres north of Cook Creek Road, first reported late Sunday night and last updated before 5 a.m. Monday.
Drive BC says there is no estimated time for when the road will be opened with an assessment completed in the morning.
A detour is in place for northbound traffic via the Cook Creek intersection with Highway 19.
Southbound traffic is detoured via Buckley Bay to Highway 19. The estimated time of opening is 8 p.m.
