The Pat Bay Highway is being repaved from Haliburton Road and Vanalman Avenue.

Drivers are being advised to allow for extra time as crews repave the Patricia Bay Highway (Highway 17) in both directions between Vanalman Avenue and Haliburton Road.

The four-kilometre repaving work is being done at night, between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., as traffic volumes are low during those times. There will be no construction on Sundays or statutory holidays.

The Ministry of Transporation and Infrastructure staff will be monitoring traffic throughout the project to try and keep any delays related to construction to a minimum.

The project is expected to be done by early fall. Officials say the work schedule may change due to weather and other conditions. Motorists must obey traffic control personnel and construction speed limits, officials say, as well as watch for workers and highway message boards.
