The company that manages curbside recycling collection in the Capital Regional District has informed that services may be delayed due to the heat this week.

The CRD put out a notice that Emterra Environmental says collection may be delayed until July 29.

Emterra says it will try to collect from missed addresses where possible, and says if recycling isn’t picked up by 9 p.m. the materials should be left at the curb.

If it has been 48 hours and your recycling still has not been collected, you are asked to contact [email protected] with your address informing of the missed collection.

This comes several months after Emterra faced recycling collection issues, first due to the snowy weather in January and equipment breakdown where some customers went several weeks without recycling collection, then again in February where a labour dispute disrupted the collection schedule.

Recycling collection was also disrupted the week of July 21 due to unspecified service disruptions.
