The winter storm on Tuesday has delayed recycling collection for some West Shore residents.

Snowy conditions on Dec. 19 led the CRD to call off collection services as numerous trucks had slipped or become stuck, posing a danger to both workers and residents.

The Capital Regional District says some residents, including those on side streets along Goldstream Avenue and roads within Braemar Heights, Colwood and Bear Mountain, will have wait until their next collection day for their recycling to be picked up.

Officials say the trucks are used on a daily basis around the region and they cannot send them back to impacted areas to make up the lost day.

Residents can choose to wait for the next collection day or drop off items at regional recycling depots for free.

The next collection day for West Shore is on Jan. 2. A list of recycling depots can be found at http://bit.ly/2kUDskS
