Passengers who were on a recent flight that landed in Victoria are being warned about possible exposure to COVID-19.

The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has added WestJet flight 3185 from Vancouver to Victoria on July 21 to its COVID-19 exposure list.

The affected rows on the flight were 5 to 11.

The flight was among more than a dozen flights that the BCCDC added to its exposure list on July 26, including five international flights.

However, it is only the second Vancouver Island flight to be added to the province’s exposure list this month, following the addition of WestJet flight 491 from Calgary to Comox on July 18. The affected rows on that flight were rows 4 to 10.

BCCDC says passengers who were on a flight that has been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those who were sitting in rows identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
