RCMP seeking dash cam footage following hit-and-run incident in Langford

West Shore RCMP are reaching out to the public for possible dash cam footage to aid in an investigation of a hit-and-run incident in Langford.

The incident took place on October 15, 2021, when RCMP officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision that occurred at around 8:00 p.m. on Happy Valley Rd near Luxton Rd.

Police say the victim was driving a grey Honda Civic, southbound on Happy Valley Rd. A police report suggests that a white 4-door sedan was coming eastbound from Luxton Rd. and performed a right turn, southbound onto Happy Valley Rd. without stopping at the stop sign, cutting off the victim’s vehicle.

At the time of this turn, no collision occurred, however, police say the suspect vehicle stopped in the middle of the road in front of the victim’s car.

The victim in the grey Honda Civic tried to drive around the suspect’s vehicle to avoid confrontation, but, according to the report, the white 4-door sedan chased after the victim.

The car drove up beside the victim’s Civic and intentionally struck the vehicle, causing moderate damage and causing the vehicle to spin out of control.

Police say the suspect vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound on Latoria Rd.

The driver of the white 4-door sedan is being described as a man in his late 20’s, approximately 5’8 tall with a medium build and short thin blonde hair.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a navy blue hoodie and green vest.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have dashcam footage that could assist in identifying the suspect and his vehicle.
