The Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are requesting help from the public as they search for a more than 18-foot-long (5.4 metre) fishing vessel that was stolen last week.
The 18.2-foot 1976 Hourston Glasscraft boat was in waters around the 8600-block of Lochside Drive in North Saanich when it was stolen from a mooring pin sometime on Saturday, Aug. 19, according to RCMP in a release Wednesday.
Mounties in the release say the boat, with license number 6K8272 and HIM number ZHG50150176, is white with an enclosed cabin. It has a newer black Suzuki 150hp outboard motor and a grey Yamaha 9.9hp kicker motor.
Anyone with information about the stolen boat, including where it is or who may be in possession of it, is asked to call RCMP at 250-656-3931 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
