RCMP seek dashcam footage after pedestrian struck on Highway 17

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are looking for witnesses or dashcam footage after a pedestrian was struck on Highway 17.

The collision happened Friday night at around 11:15 p.m., according to police.

They say a pedestrian was struck in a serious collision involving a vehicle in the northbound lane on Highway 17, north of McDonald Park Road near the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.

The female pedestrian was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition, according to RCMP.

Police are asking if anyone has dashcam footage, witnessed the collision, or saw the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the collision to contact Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
