Nanaimo Mounties are hoping the public can help them locate a missing 27-year-old woman who had been staying at a local emergency shelter.

Karlee Pelletier, who has no apparent health issues, has not been seen or heard from since Aug. 19, according to a Nanaimo RCMP press release.

Mounties say the 27-year-old had been staying at a local emergency shelter since Aug. 2 and called her disappearance “troubling” to anyone who knows her.

“There is concern for her safety and well-being,” Const. Gary O’Brien, media spokesperson for the Nanaimo RCMP, said in a press release.

Pelletier is described as a 5-feet-6, 110-pound woman with blue eyes and brown hair. She is not known to carry a cellphone, police say.

Anyone with information regarding Pelletier’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file #2021-31814.
