The West Shore RCMP say six people were arrested on drug trafficking charges over just three days last week.

At the time, police say a GMC Sierra pickup truck was stopped at a traffic stop in the 800-block of Langford Parkway, at which point officers determined the driver was a prohibited driver.

They also noticed signs of drugs and drug trafficking within reach of the driver.

Police searched the vehicle and found 23 grams of suspected cocaine – some of which was already pre-packaged for sale – as well as 30 pills of suspected fentanyl and LSD blotter paper.

The 38-year-old driver from View Royal was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

Second arrest

One day later, police say three people were arrested on drug trafficking charges.

Mounties pulled over a 2012 Fiat 500 with three people inside near the intersection of Brock Avenue and Jacklin Road around 10:40 p.m.

Police say there were signs of drugs inside the car, and all three occupants were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

One occupant was aged 70, another was 60 and the last was 17. The youth suspect was released on an undertaking.

A search of the vehicle and the three occupants revealed 60 pills of suspected oxycontin, several small bags filled with suspected crack cocaine, and more than $2,000 in cash, police say.

Third arrest

The third drug-related arrest in as many days took place in View Royal at approximately 11:23 p.m. on Oct. 15.

At the time, Mounties were patrolling the area near the Island Highway and Burnett Road when they saw a white Jeep Cherokee “drifting across the lanes.”

Police pulled over the driver to check their sobriety and reportedly spotted drugs inside the car.

Inside the vehicle, Mounties say they found more than $17,000 in cash, over $1,000 worth of suspected stolen Lululemon clothing, over 200 pills suspected to be oxycodone, and several weapons, including an axe and two large knives.

Both people inside the car, a 40-year-old man and 31-year-old woman, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The jeep was also seized.

All three investigations are ongoing.
