West Shore RCMP has seized drugs, cash, and firearms following a drug trafficking investigation which led to the execution of two search warrants in neighbouring jurisdictions.

According to a report, an ongoing investigation from West Shore RCMP Drug Section led them to two different residences, one located in Saanich and one located in Sooke.

On April 23, investigators with West Shore RCMP joined forces with Saanich Police Street Crime Unit and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) to execute a warrant at a residence on Barrington Road.

Simultaneously, West Shore RCMP Drug Section officers collaborated with Sooke RCMP and the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) to execute a second search warrant at a residence on Steeple Chase Road in Sooke.

Following the warrants at both locations, police seized a combined 3 ounces of cocaine and $42,000 in cash.

Additionally, eight long guns, that were stored unsafely, were found on the properties and multiple pieces of Hell’s Angels support gear, including two shirts and two hats were located as well.

Police note that two pickup trucks, one automobile, and one Harley Davidson motorcycle were also seized as part of the investigation.

“In a region like the CRD, with multiple city boundaries, there is a perception that you can move between police jurisdictions and that movement may protect you from police detection. said Cst. Massey, the West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer, An investigation like this one shows how our police agencies work together to prevent the proliferation of drug trafficking, which doesn’t stop at jurisdictional boundaries.”

West Shore RCMP says that criminal charges are being sought in this matter and the investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
