RCMP are investigating an incident on the Tsawout First Nation

Sidney / North Saanich RCMP are investigating a report of a white van driving suspiciously and approaching young women on the Tsawout First Nation.

The report comes on the heels of a similar incident which was investigated by RCMP, involving a white truck approaching young women in the same area on September 26. According to the RCMP, the investigation revealed that the parties involved in this earlier incident were known to each other and the incident was resolved.

The RCMP say a second incident was reported later on September 26, involved a different vehicle and different occupants, and is now under investigation.

The vehicle is described as a white van, and the occupants are described as two Caucasian males. The van was seen driving suspiciously around Central Saanich Road, on the Tsawout First Nation.

Cst. Meighan de Pass says that the RCMP is seeking anyone who saw this vehicle in the area, and emphasized that these two incidents are separate investigations.

“Due to the sensitivity of the nature of the report, we would like to ensure that the incident is investigated fully before we make any further comments,” said de Pass, adding that anyone who has information regarding the incidents should call 250-656-3931 and make a formal report.
