It appears someone in Campbell River has a penchant for designer sunglasses.

Campbell River RCMP says officers responded to FYI Doctors on Dogwood Street in the city’s downtown area at around 4:00 a.m. on April 21 after receiving reports of a break and enter.

When officers arrived, they discovered the front door was completely smashed and “several” pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses had been stolen from the business.

“At this point in time, there is very little to go on. We are hoping that someone from the public may have witnessed something or has been offered an unbelievable price on Maui Jim sunglasses,” Const. Maury Tyre, media spokesperson for the Campbell River RCMP, said in a press release.

Although officers responded to the business at around 4 a.m., the incident was actually reported 20 minutes earlier, but because of some kind of “communication relay” issue, the RCMP detachment says officers weren’t notified until 4 a.m.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
