The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit have renewed calls for any new information into the murder of 49-year-old Peter Thompson, found dead in his James Bay apartment in 2015.

On Feb. 18, 2015, Thompson’s body was discovered his apartment on Michigan Street, near Menzies Street, after police responded to a request to check on his welfare at around 9 a.m. His death was deemed suspicious.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in piecing together Thompson’s movements and whereabouts in the days and hours before his death.

Police said any information, even if it may seem insignificant, can help with the investigation.

“The family deserves some answers,” Cpl. Tammy Douglas, spokeswoman for Island District RCMP, said in a release.

Police said Hunter’s case remains an open and active investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit at 250-380-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers, which is for those who wish to remain anonymous, pays up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
