A Vancouver Island man who pleaded guilty to making multiple threatening and indecent phone and video calls will be sentenced later this month.

Joel Perry, 34, of Qualicum Beach was arrested on May 16, 2018, in connection with calls made mainly to women on the Lower Mainland between November of 2017 and April of last year. The 70 charges approved by the BC Prosecution Service relate to incidents in White Rock, Langley and Surrey.

Perry entered guilty pleas on Dec. 14, 2018, to 32 of the 70 counts, according to the BC Prosecution Service. Sentencing was adjourned to allow for completion of pre-sentence reports.

Perry will be sentenced on March 25 in Surrey.
