A long-time furniture fixture on Vancouver Island has decided to shut its doors during the COVID-19 crisis.
Dodd’s Furniture & Mattress announced on Saturday that they will be temporarily closing all of their store locations in Victoria, Nanaimo and Campbell River as well their warehouse to prevent the spread of the virus.
“Nothing is more important than the health & safety of Dodd’s staff, our customers and their families. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time,” said founder Gordy Dodd in a press release.
Customers will, however, still be able to place orders on the company’s website. Customers can also spend their time social distancing by “rediscovering Gordy’s array of television commercials” made over the years.
Stores will only reopen when it is “socially responsible to do so,” the press release adds.
