Campbell River RCMP say they seized several kilograms of drugs in a large bust last week, including fentanyl that was “moulded into gummy bears and dinosaurs.”

The drugs were seized on Feb. 21, when officers executed a search warrant at a property in the 600-block of Nursery Road as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

At the site, Mounties say they found large amounts of drugs, including two kilograms of fentanyl, over one kilogram of cocaine, more than one kilogram of methamphetamine, and over 3,500 Dilaudid pills.

RCMP note that Dilaudid pills are a prescribed opioid, and that there was evidence that the pills located during the raid were “diverted from safe supply prescriptions.”

Additionally, Mounties say that some of the fentanyl powder found at the scene was shaped into gummy bears and dinosaurs.

RCMP also seized $30,000 in cash, a “significant quantity” of liquid GHB – a depressant that can be used to make so called ‘date rape’ drugs – and “numerous other prescription pills” at the site.

“Extensive documentation found on scene suggested a well-organized drug trafficking operation was being run from the residence,” said RCMP in a release Wednesday.

Two vehicles, a 2022 Dodge Ram and a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, were also seized at the property.

A Campbell River woman in her 50s was arrested at the scene and police are recommending charges related to drug trafficking.

Mounties say three other people are also facing charges as part of the investigation.

“This investigation and sizeable drug seizure is an excellent example of the ongoing efforts of our officers to hold the criminal elements of the drug trade accountable for their illegal activities in our community,” said Insp. Jeff Preston, Officer in Charge of the Campbell River RCMP.
