Police seek witnesses after armed robbery at Buckley Bay ferry terminal

Comox Valley RCMP are looking for witnesses after the ticket booth at the Buckley Bay ferry terminal was robbed on Sunday night.

Police responded to the robbery at around 10:30 p.m. According to police, a man allegedly went into the ticket booth in Fanny Bay, brandished a weapon and demanded money.

Police said the suspect was dressed in black with his face covered.

“The employee did exactly what they are supposed to and was not injured in this incident,” Staff Sgt. Kevin Mazur, Comox Valley RCMP plain clothes commander, said in a statement.

B.C. Ferries, the Comox Valley RCMP General Investigation Section and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service are investigating the robbery.

Any witnesses or anyone who has information about the robbery is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
