Police seek suspect who entered woman's bedroom in Esquimalt

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say entered a woman’s bedroom in Esquimalt.

The incident took place at a home in the 600-block of Bryden Court shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday.

According to Victoria Police, the woman woke up in her bedroom to find a man dressed in dark clothing and holding with a flashlight.

The woman screamed, which police say, caused the man to flee her bedroom and the area. Fortunately, the woman was physically unharmed in the incident.

Multiple VicPD officers including members from their Forensic Identification Section and police service dog Havoc with the Integrated Canine Service, attempted to locate the suspect.

However, despite their efforts, the suspect was not located and remains at large.

The suspect is described a 5-foot-10 inch tall Caucasian man with a medium build. He was last seen was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants, a black baseball cap and appeared to have curly hair.

Victoria Police are asking anyone in the area to check their surveillance cameras around the time of the incident and anyone with information to contact them at 250-995-7654 extension 1.
