
Victoria police are asking the public to help identify a man who allegedly attacked a couple by kicking their dog and assaulting them in the city’s downtown Saturday night.
The incident happened in the 700-block of Government Street around 11 p.m., according to VicPD. The couple, tourists from outside Canada, told officers that the man first kicked their dog before getting into a physical altercation with one of them.
Police describe the suspect as being between 25 and 35 years old and standing 6’2″ with a heavy build and dark brown, thinning hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue and black plaid hoodie underneath a dark puffy vest at the time of the incident.
The couple and their dog did not require medical treatment but were shaken by the attack, police added in a release. A CCTV camera captured images of the attack and the suspect.
