A “helpful bystander” is being looked for by police along with more information after an early morning stabbing.
Officers received a report from hospital staff that a stabbing victim was in their care around 4 a.m. Sunday, according to VicPD.
They say after an investigation, they found the man had been stabbed at an unknown location in Victoria just after midnight and a bystander brought the man to the hospital, with non-life-threatening, but potentially life-altering injuries.
Police say they are looking to talk to the bystander and others to learn more about the incident. They describe the bystander as a 35 to 50-year-old woman driving a blue Dodge pickup truck. They say the woman is believed to be a nurse.
The suspect in the incident is described as being a man about 5-foot-10 with a slim build, a full beard and missing his front teeth.
If anyone was information they are asked to call VicPD at 250-995-7654 ext. 1.
