Police searching for suspect in alleged sexual assault on Victoria bus

Victoria police are looking for this man after an alleged sexual assault on a BC Transit bus. (VicPD).

Victoria police are trying to track down a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on a BC Transit bus.

Police were called to the incident shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday.

According to police, an unknown man boarded the bus at Douglas and Fort streets. It’s alleged the man sexually assaulted the woman between that stop and the stop at Douglas Street near Hillside Avenue. Police said the woman did not suffer any physical injuries.

After the alleged assault, the suspect fled east on Hillside Avenue. He is described by police as a Caucasian man believed to be in his 40s. Police said he is clean shaven and has an average build. He possibly has blue eyes.

At the time of the reported assault, he was wearing a dark zip-up jacket with a dark hood, dark denim jeans and carrying a black back pack. His cheeks also had possible acne scarring.

Police have released a security image of the man.
