Police are asking for help to identify a male suspect who took off with thousands of dollars worth of sunglasses and demo phones from a Nanaimo mall earlier this month.
Nanaimo RCMP say the suspect gained after-hours access to the Woodgrove Centre.
Investigators believe the crime took place between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4 and a universal key, which was recently lost by an employee, may have been used to get inside.
Officers were told 34 pairs of Prada and Burberry sunglasses worth an estimated $13,000 were taken from the Sunglass Hut kiosk, and several demo phones were swiped from the Fido booth.
Police say red bolt cutters were also taken from a maintenance shop near the Wal-Mart entrance.
Surveillance video shows the male suspect responsible for the thefts who is seen wearing a black shirt, black track pants, a balaclava and a backpack.
The suspect also carried what appears to be a blue bag.
If you have any information about the thefts or on the identity of the suspect, police ask you call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
