Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a suspect male after an armed robbery at the North Town Centre Mall Tim Hortons late Thursday night.

Police, including police dog services, responded around 11:30 p.m. of the armed robbery with a firearm but was unable to locate the suspect.

Investigators said no employees were injured during the robbery.

Tim Hortons’ staff and several witnesses reported seeing a male approach the till and demanded money from an employee.

The suspect appeared to have a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants.

The suspect, who was wearing a mask that concealed the lower half of his face, took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran out the front door.

He was last seen running towards the Marks Work Warehouse at the intersection of Uplands Drive and Oliver Road.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, about 5’10” to 6’0″ tall with a slim build.

The suspect wore dark clothing with a black hoodie with tan trim, black gloves, baggy pants and dark skater shoes, with white trim along the base.

Investigators are still trying to determine if a black sedan style vehicle that was spotted circling the parking lot several times prior to the suspect entering the business is linked to the robbery.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers.
