An officer with the Oak Bay Police Department nabbed a driver going 70 km/h over the posted speed limit earlier this month.
According to a media release issued by the department, an officer caught a driver in a 2017 four-door Hyundai Elantra driving 110 km/h in a 40 km/h zone in the 400-block of Beach Drive during the “early morning hours” on June 8.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver was issued a ticket carrying a fine of $477.
