Some oceanic mammals delayed a BC Ferry from docking at Fulford Harbour.
A pod of orcas was between a ferry coming from Victoria and the berth in the harbour on Salt Spring Island, according to a service notice from BC Ferries Saturday afternoon.
BC Ferries says the orcas caused one round trip sailing to be missed to keep the orcas safe.
#BCFHeadsUp #SwartzBay – #FulfordHarbour #SkeenaQueen missed 1 round trip to safely accommodate pod of killer whales in Fulford Harbour. Now back on schedule w/the 5:50pm sailing from Fulford – 10min delay. Round trip may be added tonight, if necessary to accommodate traffic. ^ka
