B.C. Emergency Health Services (EHS) and RCMP were called to the lake. Kia said a JRCC Victoria search and rescue helicopter was ready to go to the area but was not needed after police and EHS arrived at the lake.

The pilot was the only person in the plane. The plane is now submerged.
