One person has died in a workplace incident in Parksville.
WorkSafeBC was contacted by RCMP at 12:38 p.m. to report an incident involving a worker at a construction site at 1116 Herring Gull Way in Parksville. RCMP, fire crews and BC Emergency Health crews all responded to the incident.
According to WorkSafeBC, preliminary details indicated that the injuries were serious. Andy Watson, a spokesman for the BC Coroners Service, confirmed Monday afternoon that they had been notified about the death of a person following the incident.
The gender, age and identity of the person who died has not been released at this time. It happened at the construction site of Parksville’s water treatment plant. There have also been no other details about the incident released.
