The 2017 Bear Mountain Canada Cup was yesterday in Langford, with a few Olympians pedaling through the tough 6 kilometres of muddy mountain terrain. Defending champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Catherine Pendrel once again edged out fellow Olympian Emily Batty to take first place honours. The two finished 1 and 2 in the race last year, and in the Olympics, the 36-year-old Pendrel finished with bronze while Batty finished in fourth. In the men’s side it was Rio Olympian and Quebec city native Raphael Gagne taking top honours, while three-time Olympian Geoff Kabush of Comox finished in 2nd.
