Pamela Anderson made a stop in Nanaimo Wednesday night to attend the BC Green Party town hall meeting.
The former Baywatch star and longtime activist, who was born in Ladysmith, attended the meeting with representatives from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
The topic of open-net fish farms in migratory routes was brought up during the meeting. The BC Green Party wants to eliminate open net-pen fish farm tenures to protect wild salmon habitats.
During the town hall, Anderson met with Nanaimo-Ladysmith Green MP Paul Manly who was also in attendance.
The federal Green Party wants to phase out existing open-ocean net-cage fish farms and place a moratorium on new open-ocean net-pen salmon farms.
Manly previously worked with Anderson in 2010 on a video campaign against Kinder Morgan.
