BC Hydro crews were dealing with a power outage Thursday morning in Qualicum Beach that initially wiped out the power for 1650 customers.

Crews arrived just after 9:00 a.m. to begin their investigation. At around 10 a.m. power had been restored to more than 1,000 customers.

By early Thursday afternoon, power was back for all customers.

BC Hydro says a car accident led to the outages, and are now working to restore the almost 500 people as of 10 a.m.
