One man dead after early morning crash involving motorcycle near Mill Bay

The B.C. Coroners Service says one man is dead after an early morning vehicle incident involving a motorcycle near Mill Bay.

B.C. Ambulance crews were called to the scene between 2 and 3 a.m.  Sunday on Highway 1 between Cobble Hill Road and Fisher Road.

Officials say the man in his 20’s is from Quebec and was on the motorcycle.

The investigation into the man’s death is in its early stages. There is no word if any other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.

One witness says they saw damaged sports car also on the scene.

Drive B.C. reported that northbound traffic on Highway 1 remained closed until around 10:30 a.m. due to a vehicle incident 5 Kilometres north of Mill Bay, a detour was put in place.
