One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash Thanksgiving morning on the Island Highway in Qualicum Beach, according to Oceanside RCMP.
Mounties tell CHEK News the driver suffered a medical incident behind the wheel and passed away.
The crash happened on Monday, Oct. 9, in the 3100 block, near the Casa Grande Inn, and no other vehicles were involved.
BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) says paramedics were called to the scene at 9:11 a.m. and responded with three ambulances and one air ambulance.
“Paramedics cared for one patient but did not transport anyone to hospital,” BCEHS said in a statement to CHEK News. No one else was injured.
