Police have recovered the stolen merchandise but are still searching for the alleged thief who looted hundreds of dollars in goods from a store in Oak Bay last week.
Around 9:25 a.m. Saturday, April 27, Oak Bay police were called to a business in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue, where staff told officers that a female had entered the store and stole several items before fleeing.
Staff attempted to follow the female but lost sight of her in a nearby yard, according to police. Officers then searched the yard and found a garbage bag filled with merchandise, which they say was valued at nearly $900.
The female is described as standing 5’7″ with dark hair. At the time of the theft, she was wearing a black jacket and black pants and was holding a black leather bag.
In a news release, police shared a surveillance photo of the female. They say the matter is still under investigation.
