WATCH: Oak Bay High’s Diego Maffia smashed the BC high school basketball record books on Saturday when he scored 96 points in a single game in Kelowna.
Oak Bay was taking on Ross Sheppard in the 7th/8th place game of the Western Canada Basketball Tournament, and Maffia couldn’t miss. The grade 12 guard hit a total of 15 three-pointers, and went 21 for 22 from the free throw line. Maffia breaks the record that previously sat at 60 points in a single game. Current NBA center and Kamloops product Kelly Olynyk once held the record at 59 points, but Maffia’s 96 likely won’t be broken. More to come on CHEK Sports.
