WATCH: The Canadian men’s and women’s rugby sevens team had a send-off at The Westin at Bear Mountain on Thursday to say farewell to both teams before they compete in the Rugby World Cup next week in San Francisco.
The tournament format for this World Cup is unforgiving, with a single-knockout style of tournament with little to no margin for error. Both the women’s and the men’s teams have struggled in the 2018 season but will look for redemption in one of the biggest international rugby tournaments in the world. The men’s team will take on Papa New Guiney in the first round, while the women’s squad will play Brazil.
