Nanaimo senior wins 500K with Lotto Max

A Nanaimo woman said she is delighted after finding out she won $500,000 in the Lotto Max Draw and is excited to share the winnings with her family.

Gurmail discovered she matched all four extra numbers in the Lotto Max draw that was held on June 7 while waiting to see the dentist.

“While I was at the mall to see the dentist, I decided to check my tickets,” Sidhu explained. “I saw a lot of zeroes, and asked my son to look. I don’t have words to describe it.”

Seventy-nine-year-old Gurmail Sidhu came to Canada 40 years ago from India and previously lived in Terrace, Surrey. She moved to Nanaimo eight months ago where she is helping her daughter raise her twin granddaughters.
