Nanaimo RCMP are asking for help to locate 75-year-old Wayne Strilesky of Parksville, who reportedly walked away from a north Nanaimo home and has not returned.

Nanaimo RCMP with an urgent plea Monday night for help to find a missing 75-year-old man from Parksville.

Police say Wayne Strilesky lives with severe dementia, who went into a forested area near the house he was visiting and has not come back.

According to Mounties, Strilesky walked away from a home on Manhattan Way in north Nanaimo.

He was last seen wearing a red jacket (pictured), dark blue jeans, a black Canada hat with a maple leaf on it, and white runners.

Strilesky is described as being 5’8″, 155 pounds, with sandy hair and a moustache.

RCMP say he may be disoriented or hard to understand, and struggles with hearing.

Police say he has other medical conditions and his family is very concerned for his wellbeing.

Search and rescue and police dog services are also helping in the search.

Nanaimo RCMP asks anyone in the area to keep an eye out for Strilesky and if you see him, call 911 immediately.
