Nanaimo RCMP searching for suspects after downtown 7-Eleven robbed at knifepoint

No one was injured after two people allegedly robbed a downtown Nanaimo convenience store at knifepoint, according to police.

Nanaimo RCMP say officers are investigating the incident that occurred at the Terminal Avenue 7-Eleven just before 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20.

A store employee told police that two men walked into the store, before one walked behind the counter holding a knife and demanding money from the till.

RCMP say the suspects, who were caught on security camera, took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Police describe one suspect as a Caucasian man with a thin build and of medium height. He had a moustache and wore a blue hoodie, dark baseball cap, dark shorts and runners at the time of the robbery.

The second suspect, whose face was hidden from the security camera, wore a black mask, a ball cap and a plaid jacket with a black hoodie.

No store employees were injured in the incident, according to police. Nanaimo RCMP Victim Services is responding.
