Mounties in Nanaimo say they are searching for a man with discoloured teeth who allegedly stabbed someone.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, a man stabbed another man with a knife during an altercation at Port Mall Place, near the Pantry restaurant, at around 8 p.m. on April 1.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was treated and later released.

Witnesses reported told responding officers that the incident occurred following an “exchange of words” between the victim and the suspect, who eventually pulled out an “old and rusty” knife and stabbed the individual.

RCMP say the suspect is a six-foot-one inch tall male with brown or blonde hair and “discoloured yellow” teeth. He was seen wearing a dark jacket, baseball cap and was carrying a white and black backpack.
