Nanaimo RCMP investigating alleged home invasion and shooting

An alleged home invasion and shooting early Wednesday morning in Nanaimo left one man seriously injured.

Nanaimo RCMP responded somewhere along Nicol Street around 2:35 a.m on Dec. 27, after receiving reports of shots fired and a home invasion.

A 50-year-old man was found seriously injured at the scene and was transported to hospital.

Police say the incident is targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.

There is no word on the man’s condition. No other details are being released at the moment.
