A Nanaimo mom is embarking on a very special search, hoping to track down a reminder of her late husband so a part of him can be there for their eldest son’s prom.

Jamie Easterbrooke posted a message on-line Friday explaining her situation and included photos of a truck Jeff Easterbook sold just months before he passed away from cancer in 2014 at the age of 43.

For his eldest son Jaydon, the old truck held memories of many happy times with the dad he lost at such a young age.

“He has so many memories of his dad in it,” Jamie wrote.

She is hoping to find the vehicle’s current owner so she can take it back for a short while on the day of Jaydon’s prom.

“I want to borrow/rent the truck for half hour to take a picture with it and to drive him to prom,” she wrote.

She doesn’t know who it bought from her late husband, just that he’d driven up from Victoria.

She’s hoping someone will recognize the distinctive vehicle from the photos and pass her message on.

Finding the truck will mean being able to have a lasting memory of a husband and father gone too soon there for his son’s special day.
