A partially-paralyzed Nanaimo man has been reunited with his sole means of transportation a year after it was stolen.

RCMP returned an E-trike worth more than $10,000 to Aragorn Klockars last week.

The recumbent 3-wheeler was reported stolen in early October 2018.

RCMP say it was recovered on Wednesday, October 2 by officers with the Street Crimes Unit, after they executed a search warrant at a storage unit in South Wellington.

They also recovered another E-bike, stolen firearms, televisions, and other miscellaneous stolen items.

RCMP say Klockars’ E-bike was not in great shape so they took it to Rock City Cycles in Nanaimo.

The officers passed the hat within their Unit to raise money to pay for the repairs and a tune up.

“The officers were aware of how much the bike meant to him and were just glad they could do something to right a wrong,” said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

One man faces a number of charges for property related offenses.
