Nanaimo man arrested in Parksville after several post office windows broken by thrown rocks

A 22-year-old man visiting from Nanaimo has been arrested in Parksville after several windows were broken at the local post office.

RCMP say they responded to reports of a man throwing rocks at the building around 10:45 p.m on Thursday.

They arrived to find him lying by the front doors to the post office.

Police say the the man is suspected of causing significant damage by throwing several rocks through 4 of the post office windows.

They soon learned the suspect is a prolific offender with history of similar offences and subsequent charges in the past.

He was held in custody and returned home to make his first appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court on Friday.
