Internet and cell services are back online at Mount Washington Alpine Resort after they went down on Tuesday due to damaged cable.

A damaged TELUS cable was the cause of the Wi-Fi and cell service outage on Boxing Day, but in an update at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday the resort said all online services were back up and running.

“The internet and phone issues have been resolved, and we appreciated everyone’s patience yesterday as our team worked through the issue with TELUS,” said the resort in its “daily dispatch” post Wednesday.

“Resort phone lines, payments, Wi-Fi, etc. are back to normal.”

The resort adds that it saw seven centimetres of snowfall overnight, and that more snow is expected throughout the day.

“All drivers should have their vehicles prepared for changing winter road conditions on your travels,” said the resort.

Meanwhile, other parts of the Island should expect strong winds and high tides on Wednesday, with multiple weather alerts in effect, according to Environment Canada.
